Located in the northwest corner of Connecticut in scenic Litchfield County, Woodbury offers the experience of living in quintessential small-town New England. Originally settled in 1672, the town of Woodbury was founded by religious dissidents from nearby Stratford and was officially incorporated two years later in 1674. The area is best known as a quiet rural hamlet, with its history being primarily concerned with religion and agriculture. The region has also been home to several notable figures throughout its past, including composer Leroy Anderson, painters Kay Sage and Yves Tanguy, and musicians Joe Beck and Rob Zombie.

Conveniently situated near several major roadways, Woodbury has easy access to transportation throughout the area. Route 6 passes through the center of town, leading to Watertown, Bristol, and Hartford to the east. Route 64 runs through the southeastern part of town, leading to Middlebury and Waterbury to the east. Meanwhile, nearby I-84 leads southwest to Danbury and provides a connection to Massachusetts and New York.
